Request a languageFrequently Asked Questions
How do I reset my progress for a language?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → scroll to the bottom and click "Reset Progress". This clears all your flashcard data for the current language and restarts onboarding.
Does my progress sync across devices?
Yes, if you have an account. Your learning progress is automatically synced to our servers. If you're using Lingden as a guest (without an account), progress is only saved locally in your browser.
Is Lingden really free?
Yes. All core features — flashcards, spaced repetition, all languages, pronunciation, IPA — are completely free. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the learning experience you have today will remain free.
What does "Again / Hard / Good / Easy" mean?
These are self-assessment ratings that control when you'll see the card again. "Again" means you didn't know it (you'll see it again very soon). "Hard" means you struggled. "Good" means you remembered with some effort. "Easy" means it was effortless. The more honestly you grade, the better the algorithm works.
Can I learn multiple languages at once?
Yes! You can switch between languages at any time from the dashboard. Each language has its own progress, XP, and streak — they're completely independent.
How many cards should I review per day?
We recommend 15-25 new cards per day for steady progress. Consistency matters more than volume — reviewing 10 cards every day is better than 100 cards once a week. You can adjust your daily limit in settings.
What are the CEFR levels (A1, A2, B1, B2)?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages defines proficiency levels. A1 is complete beginner, A2 is elementary, B1 is intermediate, and B2 is upper-intermediate. Lingden organizes cards by these levels so you learn vocabulary appropriate to your stage.
How do I delete my account?
You can request account deletion by emailing contact@lingden.app. All your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
